Wazwan: The Kashmiri cuisine

With the idea of bringing the aromas and tastes of Kashmir cuisine to Singapore, Sun Media initiated Wazwan, an eight-day event that offered unique dining experiences and cooking lessons. The event also sought to promote the rich culture of the north Indian state of Kashmir.

Wazwan is the pinnacle of Kashmiri cuisine. This extravagant feast, which is often offered at weddings and other special celebrations, takes great amounts of time and energy to prepare; so much so that it is considered an art and is much respected.

Seeking support from the Indian High Commission of Singapore and other partners, Sun media planned and organized the entire event. Staying true to the authenticity of the cuisine, we flew in Master Kashmiri chef from New Delhi to cook and teach the art. The Tiffin room at the five-star Raffles hotel was also decorated in the finest Kashmir crafts and filled with the sounds of traditional Kashmir music.

We also designed and produced the publicity materials such as invitations, posters and the event booklet using the exquisite colors white and gold.
