About Us The Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) in partnership with the State Government of Tamil Nadu and the Confederation of Indian Industry, (CII) is once again organising the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. The 7th edition of PBD is scheduled from 7 - 9 January 2009 at Chennai.

The PBD 2009 with its theme of Engaging the Diaspora: the way forward will focus on subjects such as Language and Culture, Diaspora Youth in 21st Century India, Building Bridges: Trade & Investment, Diaspora Philanthropy, Education & Diaspora Knowledge Network, Media & Entertainment and Increased Interaction with Diaspora Women etc.

Ministers and Chief Ministers from Government of India will participate, as also Industry captains and renowned personalities.

The highlights of PBD 2009 are the two-day convention with diverse themes with distinguished speakers. Trade & Industry Exhibition with participation from Corporate, Financial Institutions, State Governments, NGOs and others. OIFC Market Place for business networking and one-to-one exclusive business meetings to identify investment opportunities in key sectors. Exhibition-cum-Sale of handicrafts, including live demonstration by artisans. Cultural evenings to rejoice Indian Splendor.
