INDIA IN FOCUS
Venue: Canberra, Australia
Date: 22nd -23rd October, 2007

In February 2007 the Australian Capital Territory Chief Minister, Mr Jon Stanhope MLA, led the first ACT Government trade delegation to India with the aim of encouraging direct trade and investment links between businesses in the ACT and India. It was a great success, with significant new business activities directly attributed to the delegation and its participating companies and organisations.

Several Indian organisations have expressed a strong desire to visit the ACT, to see first–hand the opportunities in Canberra and Australia and to further build relationships and business ties. To facilitate these developing trade and investment links, the ACT Government has initiated the India in Focus business event which will take place 22nd and 23rd of October 2007. This unique event provides a direct opportunity for market validation and entry strategy development in a supported environment.

The India in Focus event will comprise a number of high-level business information sessions, exclusive networking events and individually targeted business-to-business meetings. It will culminate in an elaborate gala dinner to launch Diwali, including a spectacular fireworks display to celebrate the Festival of Lights. The gala dinner will be hosted by the Chief Minister for the ACT, Mr Jon Stanhope MLA, with special guest of honour, Australian cricket legend Michael Bevan.
