His Excellency Ambassador H E Saad Saleh Al – Saleh, Ambassador of
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Singapore has shown great support and
understanding to the needs of the Muslim community in Singapore. His
Excellency facilitated and paved the way for a smooth journey of our pilgrims
to the Holy Land. In many cases, sometimes away from the public eye, His
Excellency would accommodate requests from our community especially in
fulfilling the pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina. His Excellency was also pro-
active in providing supplies such as dates from Saudi Arabia for distribution to
the Muslim community here during the holy month of Ramadan. Apart from
these efforts, His Excellency was constantly exploring ways in which the ties
between the two countries could be strengthened. His Excellency paid special
attention to the development of the younger generation. His Excellency for
example explored student exchange programs and also opportunities for young
Saudi students to study here in Singapore. In all these efforts, His Excellency
was mindful of the need to bring the two countries closer in areas of mutual
interest. His Excellency constant support for the Muslim community here and
his pleasant demeanour and mannerisms have endeared him in the hearts of
Singaporeans. We will miss him and wish him well.

Ihave the pleasure of calling His Excellency Saad Saleh Al
Saleh a dear friend. His Excellency Saad has represented
Saudi Arabia with a charming combination of skill and
class. I have learnt a lot from my conversations with him. He is
always sharp and perceptive.
His Excellency Saad spoke with passion on Saudi Arabia’s
Vison 2030 and the amazing positive transformation taking
place in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. His tireless efforts
to further Saudi-Singapore ties have been admirable.
